Bula Fiji!

Its been a while since our last visit to Fiji. The boat visited the islands back in 2005 shortly after her launch from Alloy Yachts.

A short 5 day sail and we arrive safely into Port Denerau Marina. A pretty breezy trip up, cold for the first night or two, but great to arrive to the warmth of Fiji. The Fijians are wonderful, warm, friendly and ever so humble.

Our trip takes us up and around the Yasawa Islands. The landscape is dramatic, the water crystal clear and the beaches are so sandy white! We visit some local villages and partake in some sevusevu ceremonies. The locals love to meet visitors. They are very inquisitive and thankful for some Kiwi gifts including some All Black rugby balls much to their amusement during the current Rugby World Cup.

After our Yasawa adventures we head back to Denerau and prepare for our trip home. Cyclone season is looming. Our weather window fast approaches and we happily bounce back down to New Zealand.

Vinaka Fiji.
