Tonga 2008

17th May 2008.
“Janice of Wyoming” departed Auckland NZ for her next adventure bound for the Vavau Island group in northern Tonga After clearing customs we headed towards Great Barrier with clear skies and a good breeze and wearing several layers of merino!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Had 2 days of uneventful sailing with good consistent winds but Day 3 saw winds building to 30-40 knots by midnight we had saw 50 knot gusts, the harnesses were on and the log entry read “Rain/Squall/Horrible/Scary/Calm”. By 1am we were back on course with 20 knots of breeze and smiling.
